You Know, By The Time You Reach My Age, You've Made Plenty Of Mistakes If You've Lived Your Life Properly. So You Learn. You Put Things In Perspective. You Pull Your Energies Together. You Change. You Go Forward. My Fellow Americans, I Have A Great Deal That I Want To Accomplish With You And For You Over The Next Two Years. And, The Lord Willing, That's Exactly What I Intend To Do.

I Can't Believe That This World Can Go On Beyond Our Generation And On Down To Succeeding Generations With This Kind Of Weapon On Both Sides Poised At Each Other Without Someday Some Fool Or Some Maniac Or Some Accident Triggering The Kind Of War That Is The End Of The Line For All Of Us. And I Just Think Of What A Sigh Of Relief Would Go Up From Everyone On This Earth If Someday-and This Is What I Have-my Hope, Way In The Back Of My Head-is That If We Start Down The Road To Reduction, Maybe One Day In Doing That, Somebody Will Say, 'why Not All The Way? Let's Get Rid Of All These Things'.

All Of Us Can See What Happens Once You Establish The Precedent That The Government Can Determine A Man's Working Place And His Working Methods, Determine His Employment. From Here It's A Short Step To All The Rest Of Socialism, To Determining His Pay....he Will Wait For The Government To Tell Him Where He Will Go To Work And What He Will Do.
