We Shouldn't Fear A World

All Across America, We Gather This Week With The People We Love To Give Thanks To God For The Blessings In Our Lives.

I Believe It Is In The National Interest That Government Stand Side-by-side With People Of Faith Who Work To Change Lives For The Better. I Understand In The Past, Some In Government Have Said Government Cannot Stand Side-by-side With People Of Faith. Let Me Put It More Bluntly, Government Can't Spend Money On Religious Programs Simply Because There's A Rabbi On The Board, Cross On The Wall, Or A Crescent On The Door. I Viewed This As Not Only Bad Social Policy - Because Policy By-passed The Great Works Of Compassion And Healing That Take Place - I Viewed It As Discrimination.

I've Changed My Style Somewhat, As You Know. I'm Less - I Pontificate Less, Although It May Be Hard To Tell It From This Show. And I'm More Interacting With People.

I Would Never Use God To Promote Foreign Policy Decisions. I Recognize That In The Eyes Of An Almighty, I Am A Lowly Sinner, And I Ask For Strength And Wisdom And I Pray For Calmness When The Seas Are Storming, And I Pray For Others.

War Has Been Waged Against Us By Stealth And Deceit And Murder. This Nation Is Peaceful, But Fierce When Stirred To Anger. This Conflict Was Begun On The Timing And Terms Of Others. It Will End In A Way, And At An Hour, Of Our Choosing.
