In Concert With All Other Nations, We Simply Must Halt Global Warming. It Is A Threat To Our Health, To Our Ecology, And To Our Economy. I Know That The Precise Magnitude And Patterns Of Climate Change Cannot Be Fully Predicted. But Global Warming Clearly Is A Growing, Long-term Threat With Profound Consequences. And Make No Mistake About It, It Will Take Decades To Reverse.

You Can't Blame Your Opponents For Applying A Strategy That Beats Your Brains Out With Regularity.

Sometimes I Think The Environment In Which We Operate Is Entirely Too Secular. The Fact That We Have Freedom Of Religion Doesn't Mean We Need To Try To Have Freedom From Religion

We Have Seen A Man Dragged To Death In Texas Simply Because He Was Black. A Young Man Murdered In Wyoming Simply Because He Was Gay. In The Last Year Alone, We've Seen The Shootings Of African Americans, Asian Americans, And Jewish Children Simply Because Of Who They Were. This Is Not The American Way. We Must Draw The Line. Without Delay, We Must Pass The Hate Crimes Prevention Act And The Employment Non-discrimination Act. And We Should Reauthorize The Violence Against Women Act.

California Has Become The First American State Where There Is No Majority Race, And We're Doing Just Fine. If You Look Around The Room, You Can See A Microcosm Of What We Can Do In The World. . . . You Should Be Hopeful On Balance About The Future. But It's Like Any Future Since The Beginning Of Time -- You're Going To Have To Make It.
