I Talked About The Human Suffering In Iraq. And I Also Saw The Need To Advance A Freedom Agenda. Imagine A World In Which Saddam Hussein Was There, Stirring Up Even More Trouble In A Part Of The World That Had So Much Resentment And So Much Hatred That People Came And Killed 3,000 Of Our Citizens. I've Heard This Theory About Everything Was Just Fine Until We Arrived And The Stir-up-the-hornet's- Nest Theory. It Just Doesn't Hold Water, As Far As I'm Concerned. The Terrorists Attacked Us And Killed 3,000 Of Our Citizens Before We Started The Freedom Agenda In The Middle East.

We Should - We Will - Welcome People Of Faith Into The Political Process... It Is Essential That Believers Enter The Arena. Your Involvement In Politics Helps Determine How Well Our Democracy Works. We Have Finally Learned That Government Programs Cannot Solve Our Problems. Government Can Hand Out Money, But Government Cannot Put Hope In Our Hearts Or A Sense Of Purpose In Our Lives.

We Are Seeing Some Challenges And Some Changes In American Business, American Enterprise, But The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Is A Reminder Of Things That Must Never Change: The Passion For Excellence, The Drive To Innovate, The Hard Work That Goes With Any Successful Enterprise.

I Think Everybody Knows That Africa Is In A Very Deep Crisis. There Is Economic Misery And Social Deprivation And That Africa Needs Help But The Question Then Is How. And Also We Have To Make Sure That We Don't Repeat Old Mistakes; This Help Is Only Short Term. It Doesn't Address Africa's Long-term Fundamental Needs And How To Put Africa On The Right Track To Development. What Africa Needs To Do Is To Grow, To Grow Out Of Debt.

A Lot Of The Reason Why The Debate Is Acrimonious Is Because Of The 24/7 News Cycles, Blogs, And People Being Able To Just Throw Something Out There In Order To Get Attention. And I'm Not Going Be Out There Doing The Same Thing, Trying To Trash My Successor Or Call Attention To Myself. I Hope That's A Positive Contribution To The Dialogue.
