The Least I Can Do Is Speak Out For Those Who Cannot Speak For Themselves.

I Just Have This Absolute Belief That Humans Are Moving Away From Cruelty And Destruction Towards A Time When We Can Truly Live In Harmony With Nature. When We Understand That There Is A Spiritual Power Around Us From Which We Can Draw Strength. That Is Where I Believe Human Destiny Ultimately Is Taking Us. I Just Hope We Have Time.

War Had Always Seemed To Me To Be A Purely Human Behavior. Accounts Of Warlike Behavior Date Back To The Very First Written Records Of Human History; It Seemed To Be An Almost Universal Characteristic Of Human Groups.

And I Thought How Sad It Was That, For All Our Sophisticated Intellect, For All Our Noble Aspirations, Our Aggressive Behavior Was Not Just Similar In Many Ways To That Of The Chimpanzees - It Was Even Worse. Worse Because Human Beings Have The Potential To Rise Above Their Baser Instincts, Whereas Chimpanzees Probably Do Not.

Surely It Should Be A Matter Of Moral Responsibility That We Humans, Different From Other Animals Mainly By Virtue Of Our More Highly Developed Intellect And, With It, Our Greater Capacity For Understanding And Compassion, Ensure That Medical Progress Slowly Detaches Its Roots From The Manure Of Non-human Animal Suffering And Despair.
