I've Been Encouraging Documentary Filmmakers To Use More And More Humor, And They're Loath To Do That Because They Think If It's A Documentary It Has To Be Deadly Serious - It Has To Be Like Medicine That You're Supposed To Take. And I Think It's What Keeps The Mass Audience From Going To Documentaries.

My Dad Was An Assembly Line Worker At Ac Spark Plug, Which Was A Division Of General Motors, And His Job Was To Build And Then Inspect The Little Spark Plugs As They Came Off The Line.

When You Come From The Working Class And You Do Well Enough Whereby You Can Provide A Little Bit Better For Your Family, Get A Decent Roof Over Their Head And Send Them To A Good School, That's Considered A Good Thing.
