We Are All, By Nature, Clearly Oriented Toward The Basic Human Values Of Love And Compassion. We All Prefer The Love Of Others To Their Hatred. We All Prefer Others’ Generosity To Meanness. And Who Is There Among Us Who Does Not Prefer Tolerance, Respect And Forgiveness Of Our Failings To Bigotry, Disrespect, And Resentment?

If We Can Manage To Refrain From Harming Others In Our Everyday Actions And Words, We Can Start To Give More Serious Attention To Actively Doing Good, And This Can Be A Source Of Great Joy And Inner Confidence. We Can Benefit Others Through Our Actions By Being Warm And Generous Toward Them, By Being Charitable, And By Helping Those In Need.

If Science Proves Some Belief Of Buddhism Wrong, Then Buddhism Will Have To Change. In My View, Science And Buddhism Share A Search For The Truth And For Understanding Reality. By Learning From Science About Aspects Of Reality Where Its Understanding May Be More Advanced, I Believe That Buddhism Enriches Its Own Worldview.

The Way To Develop Inner Peace Through Meditation Begins With The Recognition That The Destroyer Of Inner Peace Is Not Some External Foe, But Is Within Us. Therefore, The Solution Is Within Us Too. However, That Inner Change Does Not Take Place Immediately In The Way That We Switch On A Light, But Takes Weeks, Months And Years.

Many Problems That Confront Us Today Are Created By Man, Whether They Are Violent Conflicts, Destruction Of The Environment, Poverty Or Hunger. These Problems Can Be Resolved Thanks To Human Efforts By Understanding That We Are Brother And Sister And By Developing This Sense Of Closeness. We Must Cultivate A Universal Responsibility Toward Each Other And Extend It To The Planet That We Have To Share.
