I Always Start With Characters Rather Than With A Plot, Which Many Critics Would Say Is Very Obvious From The Lack Of Plot In My Films - Although I Think They Do Have Plots - But The Plot Is Not Of Primary Importance To Me, The Characters Are.

There Is Something Very Pleasurable About Watching Cartoons, A Really Warm, Comfortable Feeling. My Taste Is Quite Broad, But Most Of All I Like American Cartoons. Early Disney, Betty Boop, Roadrunner, Ren & Stimpy, South Park. Sometimes I'll Watch Pokemon Or Bad 80s Cartoons.

To Me, Everything Is Endless Variations On Other Things. Like Waves In The Ocean. They Continue To Turn Over On Each Other, And They're All Slightly Different. I Don't Know If Originality Is Possible. Is It Even Necessary? Because Everything Is Different Than What Came Before, But It's All Branches From The Same Tree. Originality Is Overrated, But What You Do With Things Is Always Different.

I Never Start With The Story First, Which Is Maybe Obvious, Because The Narrative Line Of My Films Is Really Not That Strong Or Dramatic. They're Very Simple.

Some People Would Find Just The Rhythm Of My Films Alone To Be A Nightmare; They'd Probably Just Fall Asleep Because They Want Something Quicker. Other People Fall Into It And It Works For Them Like A Dream.
